About Us

A community of astrology enthusiasts and practitioners in the Baltimore–Annapolis area.

Who We Are

The Baltimore Astrological Society (BAS) brought together astrology students, hobbyists, and professional practitioners from Baltimore and Annapolis. The group organized lectures and gatherings, published a monthly astrology column by Kari, and shared educational resources for learning chart work.

BAS maintained ties with the broader astrological community, linking to the NCGR Professional Astrologers Alliance and providing information on NCGR certification for members pursuing formal study.

The Baltimore Astrological Society exists to nurture a warm, welcoming space where anyone curious about the stars can find belonging. Whether you are a lifelong student of chart work, a practicing professional, or simply someone drawn to astrology for the first time, the Society meets you where you are. The community emphasizes education and shared discovery, offering opportunities to deepen your understanding of the craft through lectures, discussions, and collaborative learning. At its heart, BAS is about connection—building friendships and intellectual bonds among people who share a reverence for the sky and its stories.

The Society remains proudly rooted in the Baltimore and Annapolis region while staying engaged with the wider astrological world. Members benefit from a rich sense of local community paired with access to broader networks and resources, including connections to professional organizations and certification pathways for those pursuing formal credentials. This dual focus allows BAS to serve both the curious newcomer and the dedicated practitioner. Through its ongoing programming, recorded content, and shared resources, the Society works to keep astrology accessible, relevant, and vibrant for generations of students yet to come.

Beyond lectures and gatherings, the Society fosters an ongoing culture of curiosity that extends into everyday life. Members are encouraged to bring questions, share perspectives, and grow together in an atmosphere free of pretense or gatekeeping. The group's commitment to education is matched by its commitment to kindness—creating an environment where every question is welcomed and every level of experience is honored. Whether you attend a single event or become a devoted regular, you will find a community that treats the study of astrology not as a distant pursuit but as a living, human practice.

Groups & Community

Members connected through a dedicated Meetup group and a Facebook page, alongside links to related regional groups including the DC Astrology Meetup and the Nova Astrology Meetup. BAS and Annapolis NCGR events were listed together on a shared calendar for the 2011–2012 season.

Gatherings sometimes extended beyond the lecture hall — for example, a lunch meet-up following a February 18 lecture was held at Donna's Crosskeys location from 1:30 to 2:30 pm.
